The short version. SheetTidy does not collect, store or transmit the contents of your spreadsheets. All the cleaning happens inside your own Google account. The only thing that ever leaves your device is your licence key, sent to our payment provider to check that it is valid. We do not operate a server, and there is no database of users anywhere.
This policy explains what SheetTidy (“the add-on”, “we”, “us”) does and does not do with your information. It applies to the SheetTidy add-on for Google Sheets™ and to this website.
SheetTidy runs entirely on Google's servers, inside your own Google account, using Google Apps Script. When you run a tool, it reads the cells in the spreadsheet you currently have open, changes them, and writes them back. That data never travels to us and is never retained anywhere outside your own file.
The add-on requests the spreadsheets.currentonly permission. This means it can
only ever access the single spreadsheet you have open at the time. It
cannot open, list, read or modify any other file in your Google Drive, even if it wanted to.
You can confirm this on the permission screen when you install.
| Information | Where it is kept | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your licence key | In your own Google account, using Apps Script user properties. Not on any server of ours. | So you don't have to re-enter it every time you open a spreadsheet. |
| An activation ID and status, and the date it was last checked | Same place — your own Google account. | To confirm your licence is valid without contacting the payment provider more than once a day. |
That is the complete list. There is no other stored information, and none of it is accessible to us.
When you enter a licence key, and at most once a day afterwards, the add-on contacts
Lemon Squeezy at api.lemonsqueezy.com to check whether the key
is valid.
What is sent: your licence key, and the word SheetTidy as a label.
Nothing else. No spreadsheet content, no file names, no email address, no
identifying information about you or your document.
If you never enter a licence key, the add-on makes no outbound connections at all.
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. If you buy a licence, they collect the information needed to process the payment — typically your name, email address and billing details — under their own privacy policy, at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
We receive a record that a sale occurred and the email address associated with it, so that we can provide support and reissue licence keys. We never see your card details.
If the add-on encounters an unexpected error, Google's standard Apps Script logging records the technical details — such as the error type and the line of code involved — in our Google Cloud project. This is a built-in Google feature that helps us find and fix bugs.
These records contain technical diagnostics only. Our code does not place spreadsheet contents into error messages. Google retains these logs according to its own policies.
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages and consists of static pages. We set no cookies and run no analytics. GitHub may record standard server access logs, such as IP addresses, as described in the GitHub privacy statement.
You can remove everything the add-on has stored at any time:
Because we do not hold your data on a server, there is nothing further for us to delete. For information held by Lemon Squeezy in connection with a purchase, contact us at the address below and we will help you make the request.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information about you, and to object to its processing. Since the only personal information connected to SheetTidy is held by our payment provider in relation to a purchase, email us and we will assist you in exercising those rights.
SheetTidy is a workplace productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change and the updated version will be posted here. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will say so clearly on this page rather than quietly editing it.
